The Day After the RNC - RAVE - I am inspired and have Hope again.

building, developing and producing new products and technology could mean
the best years ever if properly developed and encouraged by government, not
throttled and demonized as 'the enemy'...

I taped to listen to later but the portion I heard did inspire me. It felt great to look forward to a promising future. It has gotten so depressing lately. I think his comments about actively perusing a domestic energy policy alone could really invigorate our economy. Seems like tons of money sitting under the ground/water waiting for us to come and get it?

Personally, I sure am getting tired of working retail....

While he isn't Winston Churchill I was also inspired by Mitt. However; I
have to say, I was thrilled to see so many of the Republican party speakers
that also inspired me and made me clap.

For too many years I think too many RINO's have been what we have
had to support because they were better than the Leftist Liberals.
However, for the first time in many years I felt like we have several coming

through that give me hope. Marco Rubio 2020!


I cheered Nicky Haley. Chris Christie had me nodding my head and Paul Ryan's speech was better than you could hope for in a Vice-President. Ryan is a vice-president that should something happen I
would feel secure having him step forward. That scenario hasn't been true in, well I can't remember in my lifetime a Vice-President that I felt so strongly

is as capable as the President.

 Good God, can you imagine Biden at the Wheel?

As always Condi spoke with a 'set' I wish more male politicians had and that the current president will never have. He has Hubris but that is not the same thing.

Thanks go to Mimi for recording it all so I could watch it with them after work. I am looking forward to spending time watching the speeches I missed.

The president will say anything to get re-elected and his strategy includes this list of outright falsehoods, distortions, smears and lies.

1. Make wild charges

President Obama’s campaign team’s incessant attacks on Romney’s record at Bain Capital are a textbook example of trying to divert attention by exaggerating and distorting their opponent’s record. With the assistance of the mainstream media, President Obama is trying to make Romney look like the second coming of Simon Legree, with his campaign going so far as to accuse Romney of committing felonies.

2. Lie about opponents

At this stage in the race, desperate Democrats are starting to make things up. At a Democratic fundraiser in Seattle, Vice President Joe Biden tried to slip an outright falsehood past the crowd. Citing efforts in several states to cleanse voter rolls of the dead and felonious, Biden said, “Republicans have changed the law so you get arrested if you do vote.”

3. Play the blame game

“The buck stops here” is not exactly the motto of the Barack Obama presidency as he continually tries to shift the blame for his poor record to others. The moribund economy and lack of job creation is the result of the Bush tax cuts, the Arab Spring, the Japanese tsunami, greedy Wall Street bankers, uncooperative Republicans and ATM machines.

4. Class warfare

Even some Democrats are beginning to wonder about the president’s incessant class warfare remarks. He demonizes Wall Street, bankers, corporate America and the wealthy—sending record amounts of campaign donations into the coffers of Mitt Romney. But that’s all the ‘hope and change’ candidate from 2008 has left: an appeal to the cynicism of the Occupy Wall Street crowd.

5. Deny, deny, deny

One tried-and-true campaign tactic is denial. Take Democratic National Committee Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s view on the economy. Instead of acknowledging the depth of economic pain that still exists for millions of Americans, Wasserman Schultz said, “I am pretty happy about 28 straight months of job growth in the private sector.” Some job growth, with an 8.2 percent unemployment rate that shows no sign of abating.

6. Pander to special interests

President Obama is the master at appealing to the collection of special interest groups that has become the Democratic Party. Promise to support same-sex marriage for the gay lobby, stop the Keystone pipeline for the environmentalists, give Hispanics immigration relief, use the race card whenever possible to energize blacks, scare women about contraception and give sweetheart deals to Big Labor.

7. Attack the messenger

No better way to deflect from your own lack of accomplishments than to blame the messenger and President Obama’s favorite bogeyman is Fox News. Recently on the campaign trail, the president said, “So just in case some of your friends or neighbors or Uncle Jim is a little stubborn, has been watching Fox News, if he thinks that somehow I raised taxes, let’s just be clear, we’ve lowered taxes for middle class families.” Not quite.

8. Play the race card

In liberal land, the contempt of Congress vote on Attorney General Eric Holder was really a way for evil Republicans to eviscerate the Voting Rights Act. A new liberal group called “The Message” made a YouTube video, saying that Romney is so white he makes “Wonder Bread look like pumpernickel.” The president often aids and abets the divisiveness, even setting up a national campaign organization, “African Americans for Obama.”

9. Run against George W. Bush

All through his presidency, President Obama has blamed his predecessor for all that was going wrong during his own administration and loved to tell audiences about the mess he inherited. Now, by linking Romney to Bush, he can run against a more unpopular figure. Vice President Joe Biden opened that door in a speech calling Romney “George Bush on steroids.”

10. Create phony issues

In order to scare single women to the voting booth, President Obama and his team wants to pretend that Republicans want to roll back the clock to another era. Republicans “have a social policy right out of the 1950s,” says Joe Biden. So the campaign twists its own strong-armed tactics against religious groups into a fake attack by Republicans on contraceptives. Then it makes a campaign ad that lies about Romney’s abortion policy and, voila, you suddenly have a “war on women.”

Government officials and citizens in Australia speak out to warn America “Don’t Let Them Take Your Guns!” According to reports when the Gun Ban went into effect in Australia the crime rate spiraled out of control. The police officers are overwhelmed and are unable to protect the citizens due to so much crime. 

When the forced gun ban (buy back program) went into effect law abiding citizens had to turn in their semi automatic firearms, pump action rifles, and shotguns or face going to jail. Six hundred forty thousand conventional firearms were taken out of the hands of law abiding citizens, confiscated and destroyed. Law abiding citizens followed the law and turned in their weapons. Citizens were promised safety in return for turning in their guns. Does any of this sound familiar, like UN Gun Treaty perhaps?

 

Since the gun ban in Australia, armed robberies are up 69%, assaults with guns up 28%, gun murders increased 19%, and home invasions jumped 21%. More proof that not only does gun control not work, it makes it safer for the criminals at large. In their words “The cost of lost liberty can be measured in the loss of life”

Andy Dunn from the South Australian Police Association states “The bad guys are happy to break into somebody’s house. They are not frightened to break into somebody’s house while their at home.” He also states “It is very bad right now. It has never been worse.” The police can’t protect the civilians now, because they are undermanned and their morale has never been lower according to reports.

Wake up America! To those Anti-gun activists, you need to realize this is going to affect you also. Wake up before it is too late. Will the United States listen to the warning Australia is sending us? Will it make a difference? I truly hope so. I would like to thank the Australians for taking the time to warn us about the effects of gun-control in their country. Although many of us know what affect gun control has on our nation, many do not and have been fooled by the smooth talking politicians. Others seem to be in the mind set that it doesn’t affect them. Without our right to bear arms, our right to protect ourselves, our family, and our home will be gone. Thus allowing the Constitution to be destroyed by politicians for the sake of their agenda.

On a beautiful August day when most people are enjoying the weather and leisure time, self-made man Al Letizio organized a protest against the President of the United States.  

This New Hampshire businessman set up signage outside his business to let Mr. Obama know that in America, the free market still works and small businessmen aren’t obligated to grovel on bended knee to thank the federal government for allowing them to exist.

Al Letizio owns a small food service business that just happens to be situated along President Obama’s motorcade route to his rally in New Hampshire today. Mr. Letizio, like so many other small business owners across the country, is annoyed at the President’s infamous, off-prompter declaration that business owners in America ”didn’t build that.” In fact, it’s quite the opposite. The federal government is funded by people like Mr. Letizio.

Mr. Letizio hung a “We Did Build It” sign on his storefront as Obama drove by, with Romney supporters cheering him on.

There is no question that the Detroit suburbs have become the Muslim capital of America.  First they moved in and took over Dearborn and now they seem to be exerting their influence in Farmington.

Located about seventeen miles northwest of Dearborn, Farmington is a community of just over 10,000 people.  Founded in 1824 by a New York Quaker named Arthur Power, the city was originally named Quakertown.  Two years later, the name was changed to Farmington after Power’s hometown in New York.

After what Farmington Public Schools did, they may want to consider changing the name of the town to Muslimtown.

Apparently, the school district had a vacant school property that was valued at $2 million back in 2008.  A Christian church and a Jewish learning center both inquired into the availability to purchase the property and they were both told by the school district that it was not for sale.  Then the school district turned right around and sold the vacant property to the Islamic Cultural Association for $1.1 million.

An Egyptian court has ordered the Saturday editions of a newspaper confiscated over allegations that it insulted Islamist president Mohammed Morsi and instigated sectarian discord, Egypt’s official news agency said.

Editions of Al-Dustour, a privately owned daily, were seized after several individuals filed lawsuits accusing it of “fueling sedition” and “harming the president through phrases and wording punishable by law,” MENA reported.

It was not clear whether the paper was barred from publishing completely, but the Egyptian newspaper al-Masry al-Youm said authorities have removed al-Dustour from newsstands.

Owned by a Christian businessman, the paper has been fiercely critical of Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood while showing strong support for the military council, which took power after the ouster of Hosni Mubarak in last year’s uprising.

Saturday’s edition featured a lengthy front-page article warning of a Brotherhood “emirate” seizing Egypt while calling on Egyptians to join ranks with the military to confront Islamists.

The lawsuits also accuse the paper of “inflammatory” coverage of recent sectarian violence.

Several days earlier, a TV network was ordered off the air over allegations that it suggested the killing of Morsi. The network, el-Faraeen, broadcasts populist talk show host Tawfiq Okasha, a former Mubarak loyalist who regularly expresses enmity toward the revolution and the Muslim Brotherhood on his show.

There should be a public out-crying for Harry Reid to resign after this arrest. After all, according to Harry Reid the person who alleges a crime isn't the one who should prove that allegation true, the 'culprit' should prove that what is alleged against him ISN'T true. So Harry Reid, Prove you weren't drunk and naked in the road please. 

LAS VEGAS (TPC) Harry Mason Reid, "cowboy poet" who is known to his fans as the Senate Majority Leader, was lying in the middle of the road with no car in sight when another driver spotted him and called 911, according to a recording released Thursday. Officials said Reid was naked and threatened to kill state troopers when he was arrested late Tuesday night. 

Apparently Read was returning home from a poetry reading at the Cowboy Poets Society(CPUSA). He was charged with driving while intoxicated and retaliation or obstruction, and released Wednesday on $21,500 bond from the Clark Co. jail in Las Vegas. A mug shot showed a battered-looking Reid in a T-shirt, with a black eye and dried blood on his face. He later walked barefoot out of the county jail wearing scrubs and a "Viva Las Vegas" baseball cap.

The 911 caller did not identify Reid by name and said he at first thought the body belonged to a deer. "I'm spooked out," he said. "I don't see a vehicle, there's a couple of cones scattered." Nevada troopers responding to the scene said a Pontiac Trans Am registered to the 71-year-old Reid had been driven off the road and struck several barricades in a construction road. Reid was not wearing clothes and made threats against the Texas troopers, said a Department of Public Safety spokesman. He said the senator refused sobriety tests, so a blood specimen was taken.

"Reid had a strong odor of alcoholic beverage on his breath and several signs of intoxication," according to a statement from the sheriff's office. "While Reid was being transported, he made threats to shoot and rape the troopers working the case."

District Attorney said the felony retaliation or obstruction charge could be referred to a grand jury within a month or six weeks, while the DWI case could be filed as soon as prosecutors decide whether to proceed. The felony count carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and/or a fine of up to $10,000.

It's been a rocky couple of years for Reid, a Las Vegas native best known for such tunes as "The war is lost," "Romney Pays No Taxes," and other tunes popular among Democrat voters. Friends cite increasing stress and anxiety over losing Senate majority role in the coming election as a likely reason for this breakdown.

A representative for U.S. Senate said there would be no comment Thursday.

In his memoir, Barack Obama omits the full name of his mentor, simply calling him “Frank.” Now, the truth is out: Never has a figure as deeply troubling and controversial as Frank Marshall Davis had such an impact on the development of an American president.

Although other radical influences on Obama, from Jeremiah Wright to Bill Ayers, have been scrutinized, the public knows little about Davis, a card-carrying member of the Communist Party USA, cited by the Associated Press as an “important influence” on Obama, one whom he “looked to” not merely for “advice on living” but as a “father” figure.

While the Left has willingly dismissed Davis (with good reason), here are the indisputable, eye-opening facts: Frank Marshall Davis was a pro-Soviet, pro–Red China communist. His Communist Party USA card number, revealed in FBI files, was CP #47544. He was a prototype of the loyal Soviet patriot, so radical that the FBI placed him on the federal government’s Security Index. In the early 1950s, Davis opposed U.S. attempts to slow Stalin and Mao. He favored Red Army takeovers of Central and Eastern Europe, and communist control in Korea and Vietnam. Dutifully serving the cause, he edited and wrote for communist newspapers in both Chicago and Honolulu, courting contributors who were Soviet agents. In the 1970s, amid this dangerous political theater, Frank Marshall Davis came into Barack Obama’s life.

Aided by access to explosive declassified FBI files, Soviet archives, and Davis’s original newspaper columns, Paul Kengor explores how Obama sought out Davis and how Davis found in Obama an impressionable young man, one susceptible to Davis’s worldview that opposed American policy and traditional values while praising communist regimes. Kengor sees remnants of this worldview in Obama’s early life and even, ultimately, his presidency.

Kengor charts with definitive accuracy the progression of Davis’s communist ideas from Chicago to Hawaii. He explores how certain elements of the Obama administration’s agenda reflect Davis’s columns advocating wealth redistribution, government stimulus for “public works projects,” taxpayer-funding of universal health care, and nationalizing General Motors. Davis’s writings excoriated the “tentacles of big business,” blasted Wall Street and “greedy” millionaires, lambasted GOP tax cuts that “spare the rich,” attacked “excess profits” and oil companies, and perceived the Catholic Church as an obstacle to his vision for the state—all the while echoing Davis’s often repeated mantra for transformational and fundamental “change.”

And yet, The Communist is not unsympathetic to Davis, revealing him as something of a victim, an African- American who suffered devastating racial persecution in the Jim Crow era, steering this justly angered young man on a misguided political track. That Davis supported violent and heartless communist regimes over his own country is impossible to defend. That he was a source of inspiration to President Barack Obama is impossible to ignore.

Is Obama working to fulfill the dreams of Frank Marshall Davis? That question has been impossible to answer, since Davis’s writings and relationship with Obama have either been deliberately obscured or dismissed as irrelevant. With Paul Kengor’s The Communist, Americans can finally weigh the evidence and decide for themselves.

There were hundreds of thousands of American communists like Frank who agitated throughout the twentieth century. They chose the wrong side of history, a horrendously bloody side that left a wake of more than 100 million corpses from the streets of the Bolshevik Revolution to the base of the Berlin Wall—double the combined dead of the century’s two world wars. And they never apologized. Quite the contrary, they cursed their accusers for daring to charge (correctly) that they were communists whose ideology threatened the American way and the greater world and all of humanity. We need hundreds and thousands of more books on American communists like Frank, so we can finally start to get this history right— and, more so, learn its vital lessons.  We especially need to flesh out these lessons, which are morality tales in the truest sense of the word, when we find the rarest case of a man like “Frank” managing to influence someone as influential as the current president of the United States of America—the leader of the free world and driver of the mightiest political/economic engine in history. Such figures cannot be ignored.
 The people who influence our presidents matter.

I WROTE A BOOK ABOUT MY STRUGGLES....

I was born in one country, raised in another.

My father was born in another country.

I was not his only child.

He fathered several children with numerous women.

I became very close to my mother, as my father showed no interest in me.

My mother died at an early age from cancer.

Although my father deserted me and my mother raised me, I later wrote a book idolizing my father not my mother.

Later in life, questions arose over my real name.

My birth records were sketchy.

No one was able to produce a legitimate, reliable birth certificate.

I grew up practicing one faith but converted to Christianity, as it was widely accepted in my new country, but I practiced non-traditional beliefs and didn't follow Christianity, except in the public eye under scrutiny.

I worked and lived among lower-class people as a young adult, disguising myself as someone who really cared about them.

That was before I decided it was time to get serious about my life and embarked on a new career.

I wrote a book about my struggles growing up.

It was clear to those who read my memoirs, that I had difficulties accepting that my father abandoned me as a child.

I became active in local politics in my 30s then, with help behind the scenes, I literally burst onto the scene as a candidate for national office in my 40s.

They said I had a golden tongue and could talk anyone into anything.

I had a virtually non-existent resume, little work history, and no experience in leading a single organization.
 

Yet I was a powerful speaker and citizens were drawn to me, as though I were a magnet and they were small roofing tacks.

I drew incredibly large crowds during my public appearances.

This bolstered my ego.

At first, my political campaign focused on my country's foreign policy...

I was very critical of my country in the last war, and seized every opportunity to bash my country.

But what launched my rise to national prominence were my views on the country's economy.

I pretended to have a really good plan on how we could do better, and every poor person would be fed and housed for free.

I knew which group was responsible for getting us into this mess.

It was the free market, banks and corporations.

I decided to start making citizens hate them and, if they became envious of others who did well, the plan was clinched tight.

I called mine "A People's Campaign".

That sounded good to all people.

I was the surprise candidate because I emerged from outside the traditional path of politics and was able to gain widespread popular support.

I knew that, if I merely offered the people 'hope', together we could change our country and the world.

So, I started to make my speeches sound like they were on behalf of the downtrodden, poor, ignorant to include "persecuted minorities."

My true views were not widely known and I kept them unknown, until after I became my nation's leader.

I had to carefully guard reality, as anybody could have easily found out what I really believed, if they had simply read my writings and examined those people I associated with. I'm glad they didn't.

Then I became the most powerful man in the world.

And then the world learned the truth.

Who am I?

Answer: ADOLPH HITLER.


If you were thinking of SOMEONE ELSE, you should be scared ... very scared! 

And more importantly if you thought this was someone else and were upset that someone would dare to compare who you thought this was to Adolph Hitler with these frightening parallels you scare me too. 

I received this in an email today. I had seen it before but that didn't lessen the sick feeling in the pit of my stomach upon reading it again. 

There is so much that truly frightens me about Obama. This will be scoffed off as a stretch by many. Those people that can’t SEE how dangerous Obama is. However, the core of this shouldn’t be dismissed. The fact that this president is so much more and so much less than he pretends to be should frighten you. 

The fact that masses of American Citizens are following this entity like sheep to the slaughter scares the hell out of me.

All common sense seems to have been thrown out of the window by average citizens. They blind themselves to facts and truths because it doesn’t fit what they want to believe. 

When will they wake up? Clearly our economy and the disastrous state he has brought us to have not opened their eyes. Will they start reporting ‘offenses’ of their neighbors? 

When their neighbors are carted off by ‘authorities’ will that wake them up or will they just try to take advantage of the situation and take control of their neighbor's properties. How far will things have to go before they wake up? Will they later say “I didn’t see it?” What will it take for them to wake up?

I don’t count his handlers or the progressive left that rub their hands with glee at the sheep baaa’ing their praises of this ideologue called Barak Hussein Obama, he is their guy. They are the ones passing out the kool-aid. He is their puppet whose ego is as large as Hitler’s and perhaps even larger and they use his uber ego to lead him, as the Pied Piper, and his followers into the box cars. 

Hooray for Florida. And Boo Hoo for You if you don't work and DON'T feel you should have to pass a Drug test to receive MY tax money. Rave and Rant

Dear Deadbeat;

Yes, I am calling you a deadbeat if you think somehow your being on the welfare rolls gives you some special status over the rest of us who do work or who are actually LOOKING for work.  I have been working or at some points seeking work since 1973. I have never received a dime from any welfare program and yet there have been times I have been out of work for long extended periods of time - Actually only since Obama has come into office.  So, if you want my tax dollars I request you don't use those tax dollars for drugs and do use them to expedite and assist in your efforts to get a job and start paying taxes like the rest of us and to be DRUG FREE while you do it.  Once you get a job and can pay for your own drugs I don't care if you use drugs or not.

Sometime in the late 80's or early 90's it became clear that any position I was considered for required drug testing. Without fail every position I have accepted in all that time required I participate in drug testing before hiring and indicated that there would or could be random drug testing. Additionally, even high school athletes are required to pass drug testing before they can participate in their schools sports programs.

Employers have a right to require their employee's be drug free. It is against the law you know to use illegal drugs. Additionally, I can't think an employer is wrong in wanting employees who are not impaired by drugs while at work. Why liberals, and the ACLU feel that citizens who receive welfare benefits that are paid for by working people WHO DO HAVE TO PASS DRUG TESTS TO BE HIRED somehow should be immune to this requirement boggles me. What gives them special rights? Why are the people who PAY for these benefits required to be drug free but those who receive the benefits are not required to be drug free?

There is a hoorahrah about saying that 98% of those who did take the Florida drug test passed. Uhm... Duh... Ever consider that those who knew they would not pass and had to pay for the test themselves (ooops someone else wasn't going to pay for something for them?) did NOT take the test? That sort of reporting doesn't prove anything. If you knew you would fail a drug test that you had to pay for, would you go out and pay for the test and take it knowing you were wasting your own money? I don't think so. So to me 98% passing is POSITIVE not negative. But you won't hear the liberals expressing it that way.

So... HOORAY For Florida. I wish to God that Louisiana, my home state with almost 5 generations of people who have Never worked a day in their lives, would pass this law. It only takes driving by any of the many 'projects' in New Orleans and seeing the drug deals openly going down by those we are subsidizing to be drug dealers and not productive working citizens to know that drug testing before receiving welfare benefits would be a very good path.

Before I add the information about Florida's law I would like to share just one of many little stories about welfare abuse (which will be another rant).  I along with many others was applying for a position with Harrah's Entertainment after Katrina. After a long process and orientation we were all advised that we would be drug tested that day. We were given directions to a location a few blocks away and told that we were required to appear there within the next hour. Of the 40 or so people in the room perhaps about 30 of us showed up. Ten just went missing in action. Of that 30, 12 failed the drug test. One of the young men who was sitting next to me waiting for our turn to have our hair snipped said to me. "I am probably going to fail, no biggie, I still have a few months left before my unemployment runs out." The young woman on the other side of him said, "I used that Shampoo, a friend told me to expect the drug test."  Nothing more needs to be said. Just an illustration of the drug testing experience and how people either are weeded out or slip through the cracks.

Here is the email that is going around giving Florida a Thumbs Up for its law requiring a clean drug test to receive welfare benefits.

Republican Gov. Rick Scott said, "If Floridians want welfare, they better make sure they are drug-free".

Applicants must pay for the drug test, but are reimbursed if they test drug-free.

Applicants who test positive for illicit substances won't be eligible for the funds for a year, or until they undergo treatment.

Those who fail a second time will be banned from receiving funds for three years.

Let's get welfare back to the ones who NEED it, not to those who WON'T get a JOB.

Is General Motors Now China Motors?

In less than 24 hours, Vince Wade’s YouTube video of General Motor’s CEO Dan Akerson’s (pictured next to GM's logo) speech touting the car company’s increasing investment in China has gone viral, with nearly 500,000 views. Noting that GM — derisively called Government Motors by some – received nearly $50 billion of bailout funds in 2009, Wade asked: “Did we bail out General Motors to have it become China Motors?”

According to Akerson, GM now:

• Makes almost 70 percent of its vehicles outside the US
• Has more than 2,700 dealerships in China
• Operates 11 assembly plants in China
• Has 11 joint ventures in China with two Chinese government-controlled companies
• Regards these joint ventures “as 11 keys to success.”

Akerson added:

Our commitment to working in China, with China, for China, remains strong and focused on the future.

We’re now building out the advanced technology center which will bring our research and development that is centered largely in the United States…we’re going to diversify that more into China because we think this market is so critically important to the success of our company…

[China] is the crown jewel in the GM universe. 

As evidence that GM is willing to do business with the Chinese government as long as it’s profitable, Wade notes the largely unknown purchase of GM’s Saginaw Steering Gear facility, now known as Nexteer, for half a billion dollars in 2010, giving the Chinese government ownership of Nexteer’s 22 factories around the world, its six engineering centers, its 14 customer-support centers, along with more than 1,000 patents. Those patents, said Jack Chen, the investment banker at Transworld Capital Group who put the deal together, “dramatically shortens the technology gap between China and the rest of the world.”

GM is aggressively marketing its Cadillacs to the top Chinese government officials by sponsoring a propaganda film honoring the beginning of the Communist Party’s takeover in China. Wade quoted an observer attending the initial showing of the film who saw a number of brand new Cadillacs parked out in front of the theater and remarked:

My suspicion is that GM in China is marketing this line of luxury vehicles to CCP (Chinese Communist Party) officials. These are powerful men with a lot of disposable income all wrought from taking wealth from the public.

The key activities in the lives of many party officials include finding ways to disgorge these funds: women, gambling, alcohol and luxury cars are central to their lifestyle. And what if Cadillac wanted to become a mainstream part of this club…the vehicle of choice for the underworld mob that runs China?

Well, a good way to start would probably be to publicly sponsor a movie about the “great achievements” of the founding of the party, wouldn’t it?

Those “great achievements” have no doubt escaped Akerson’s attention in his drive for profits in China, including heavy government restrictions on freedom of speech, freedom of travel, and freedom of religion. Best known for its absence of legal rights and an independent judiciary, bulwarks of the American system, the Chinese government continues to oppress its people. One need only go back to CCP leader Mao Zedong’s Great Leap Forward and his Cultural Revolution, which resulted in the deaths of tens of millions in the newly enslaved country. But perhaps Akerson isn’t current on his history.

He would only have to go back to 2008 when China hosted the Olympics to learn how they do things there. Although its 1982 constitution guarantees freedom of speech, it’s Propaganda Department of the CCP makes sure such freedom isn’t exercised. It promised to issue permits to allow people to protest in “protest parks” during the ceremonies but at the last minute those permits were withdrawn and the people requesting them were arrested.

Or Akerson could go back to 2010 when Chinese “dissident” Liu Xiabo — a freedom fighter — was awarded the Nobel Peace Prizewhile he was serving his fourth term in jail. According to Freedom House,

The government engaged in systematic censorship to prevent news of the prize and Liu’s activities from circulating inside China. It also harassed and detained dozens of other activists and refused to allow anyone to travel to the Oslo award ceremony in December to accept the prize on his behalf.

But perhaps Akerson is too busy making deals with the Chinese whom he hopes will buy his cars to note the fact that China is a communist dictatorship and that the CCP with whom he is willing to deal has a total monopoly on political power in that country, and that its nine-member Politburo Standing Committee sets all government policy. Akerson may not know that the National People’s Congress (NPC) is nothing like the U.S. Congress: it is symbolic only, meeting two weeks a year, just long enough to ratify all legislation proposed by the Politburo.

That must explain his blindness. Either he is blind or he has accepted the role of “useful idiot” which defines someone who is a propagandist for a cause whose goals he does not understand, who is being used cynically by the leaders of that cause.
